No matter how much we want to wear all the fabulous clothes in the world, there are certain issues that we have to face. For one thing, we don’t really have the budget to pull that off. Man, would those clothes cost a lot! Secondly, there are just some clothes that don’t fit us somehow. I’m sure all of us, no matter how fashion savvy, have had that feeling while trying on an outfit, that, for some reason, the clothes just don’t feel and look right.
No need to fret, my loves. This is only because you might be choosing clothes that aren’t exactly for your body type.
A Sassy Triangle
Triangles are said to be the classic feminine body shape. Like the luscious Beyoncé Knowles and the perky Vanessa Hudgens, you can be considered a triangle if your hips are larger than your shoulders. You can balance your hips with other sexy features by showing off your slim shoulders or wearing a nice set of straight-leg jeans to elongate those equally breathtaking legs. Horizontal stripe tops also highlight that small waist. When it comes to accessories, you can use bib necklaces with fancy designs to bring the attention to your upper body. Other famous triangles are Jennifer Anniston, Jennifer Lopez, and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Coincidence?
A Slice of Apple Pie
Inverted triangles (or apples) are known for their wide shoulders and eye-capturing busts. America’s Next Top Model host and supermodel-slash-business-woman and creator of the infamous “smize” Tyra Banks is one of those people who need to emphasize their lower half by purchasing round skirt or racerback dresses to balance it all out. Ruffles on the front of a top going downward also lead one’s attention to the lower half. A lariat necklace can also elongate your neck. Add bold belts to hug the waist and create those curves. Now everybody’s gonna want a bite of that sweet apple.
A Pretty Hourglass
Ah, the hourglass. Many dream of having that “perfect hourglass shape,” with the balance of both shoulders and hips that creates a defined waist. Who wouldn’t want to have the sexiness of Scarlett Johansson or the gorgeous Marilyn Monroe? And of course, there’s Kim K who’s undoubtedly sexy. Tulip-shaped dresses work well for these ladies when it comes to highlighting all the magnificent features. Pencil skirts are undeniably made for the hourglass types while boot-cut jeans are sure to help you in leveling your hips. Talk about ooh la la!
A Sexy Rectangle
That’s right. Rectangles are now seen as sexy and as edgy (pun intended) as any other body type. Think Hillary Duff. Those who have shoulders, boobs, and hips that fall under one size need not worry. You can always wear a striped tank top for a casual look that shows off those arms and creates curves. Ruffled dresses and blouses also add the right amount of frill to your look. Peplum tops are fabulous hourglass illusions; so are fitted bodice dresses. Pleated and textured skirts also add to the volume of the hips. To draw attention to your eyes or your face, wear earrings that add glamour and sophistication to your outfit. For some reason, people think squares aren’t chic, but with the right items, no one would dare say you aren’t a sight for sore eyes.
Beauty isn’t in the shape. But it still doesn’t kill to remember to find the dress that will perfectly fit your body type. People respond to what you wear so you better be wearing something fantabulous and abso-freaking-lutely beautiful!
