Well we hardly see McDonald’s ads these days. We see ads about McDonald’s products, but Ronald McDonald himself? Hardly. Looks like McDonald’s, the company, has stopped promoting their main character and stuck to, well, making its thousands of customers salivate over #foodporn ads like that featuring Jesse Mendiola. It’s probably safe to say that it works because they’re keeping this practice now.
But it’s probably even better to say that the best marketing decision they made was improve on Ronald McDonald himself. Why? Because the first version was pretty creepy. If it was this version that sat on the bench outside a McDonald’s store, man, they just might have a hard time making sales.
