I’ve always wondered what tweets are actually for. Yes, they’re microblogs, I get that. I’m not a cave woman. It’s just weird that we now find the need to report everything we’re doing, say every little thing we have to say, to an entire network of people from literally all over the world.
Then again, there are other uses of tweets we may not be aware of.
Say, in South Africa, there’s a vending machine that you can actually pay through your precious little tweets. Yep, you got that right.
Adorably called BEV, this vending machine demands attention. Global attention, that is, through Twitter. Just use the magic words (in this case, a specific hashtag) and you’ll get your drink for free.
