Oooh. This one’s a fun list right here. Even if Charlie’s Angels is no longer the fad, we’re sure we won’t run out of female characters who run the empowered storyline. We push for gender equality. Heck, we push for equality across the board. So it’s just right to recognize the characters who remind us about equality and empowerment wherever we come across them.
Here’s our list of kick ass women of Game of Thrones:
1. Daenerys Targaryen
Yes, you know it. We’re talking about empowerment. She’s as empowered as a lady could get. Pushed into making the big leap from living in her brother’s shadow to marrying a Dothraki to leading a strong and successful army, we could say Dany’s character has transitioned well in this Game of Thrones saga. Equipped with a leadership mindset different from that of Viserys, her brother and previous guardian, Dany exhibits a strong sense of justice and compassion while still able to deal with enemies with apt ruthlessness.
This pretty face has taken flight and is ready to reclaim the Seven Kingdoms in the name of the Targaryens.
2. Arya Stark
Now this one’s a natural fighter. The third legitimate child under the Ned Stark’s name, Arya possesses a natural gift for combat. She is tomboyish and willingly defies instructions especially when they threaten to box her in. My guess is that her dad’s unwavering love and support for her whims has a lot to do with this. Hey, if the head of the house doesn’t disagree with you, who else qualifies to matter?
This kid is one tough and smart cookie and you better not forget it.
3. Sansa Stark
Different from Arya, Sansa’s story started out with her as a young lady fascinated with romantic tales about knights, princes and kingdoms. She willingly lived her life as a daughter who carried her house’s name, noble and dignified while looking forward to her betrothal to the kingdom’s heir. She kept her nose upturned at the senseless decisions the people around her were making, as she was intent on being the noble woman she was raised to be. But alas, it was she who was making the wrong decisions.
From a princess- to- be to a hostage of the Lannisters, Sansa turned to her courage and wits to withstand abuses she received in the hopes of reclaiming her right to Winterfell.
Well we know you have your own list. Let us know about it in the comment section.
