Foodnatics, meet Octopop! This unique dish conceived by our Australian chef/necromancer (nah, just kidding) Adam Melonas was brought into existence by vacuum cooking a piece of octopus meat for 12 hours (Yes an octopus! Wink!). Using a sharp iron, simply called knife, the octopus meat was added with an enzyme called transglutaminase (Wiki me!), molded into a pretty, flower-like shape, dipped into spiced gel and skewered on a barbeque stick.
To simply put it, it was roasted octopus meat put on a stick!
After its release, this octopop quickly became one of Melona’s signature dishes along with his other creations–squid-pop, tuna-pop, dog-pop (No, that’s just me being silly). Well, who said eating is not fun, right? Wanna try?
