However you may have heard it, you’re sure to have been amazed. Or if you haven’t heard it at all (seriously?!) prepare to enjoy this mashup of a child’s game and some country song thanks to the playful minds of some artistically inclined.
“When I’m Gone” is actually a song coming from the creative minds of A.P. Carter and Luisa Gerstein. The Carter Family performed it in 1931, and later on the band called J.E. Mainer’s Mountaineers and singer Charlie Monroe had their own versions of the song. Taking it to a whole new level was the band called Lulu and the Lampshades who took the song and performed it to the beat of the Cup game.
From there, Anna Burden uploaded her Cup version on YouTube in 2011. Anna Kendrick then picked it up and made it a hit with her version in Pitch Perfect. Now, seriously, you must have heard about it.
It’s been around and we have this three videos for you.
