Oh you know, there’s always the matter of bullying. Your older sibling bullies you, or an older cousin bullies you. And sometimes we call that love. Fine. But taken to extreme, this apparent activity doesn’t really sit well with people all over. Of course, why would it? In recent years, bullying has come to a lot of people’s attention because of the rise in the number of kiddos who committed suicide because they were bullied.
So it makes you wonder, why do TV show or movie makers still feature them?
I’ll leave the thinking to you. For now, here’s a list of popular bullies on TV shows.
1. Regina George
If there’s anything that will standout in memory, about bullying and a movie about bullies, then Mean Girls would top the list. It’s basically a movie about bullies. Albeit thankfully it’s not to promote bullies but, you know, how to deal with them. No, you don’t play fire with fire, but just stand up to them and let fate deal with them.
2. Nelson Muntz
2D cartoons are being threatened by 3D animation, but we know these classics are not about to go away. That’s why we’re putting Nelson Muntz on this list. The Simpsons will still be a fun series to watch and Muntz will be a bully we won’t forget. His family’s dysfunctional history as a backdrop gives insightful detail on the plight of bullies all over. They generally haven’t been treated right, so treat others the right way?
3. Angelica Pickles
Speaking of 2D cartoons, here’s another old but (not so) goody bully. Bossy, arrogant, self- centered, manipulative and so-full-of-herself Angelica imposes her will on her younger cousin, Tommy, his friends Chuckie, Phil, Lil and his brother Dil. Contrary to Nelson who has nothing, Angelica is pretty much a spoiled brat. Although she might have been just as neglected as Nelson was.
4. Draco Malfoy
Thought we’d forget about him? Of course we wouldn’t! Nothing else adds insult to injury that being dissed by a blonde Brit in scathing fashion. Draco Malfoy – even the name’s as sinister as it gets. With a loathing passed on from one generation to the next, Malfoy’s disgust of Harry Potter just seeps into the bones and each jab at the hero dripping with venom… Well at least until Voldemort died and Malfoy and “Potter” became civil 19 years after.
5. Roar Omega Roar
Let’s throw in something new, shall we? Seen their movie? Sully was on the verge of being one of them before he got into a fight with eventual bestfriend Mike. But the others at Roar Omega Roar Fraternity really gave the kids of Oozma Kappa a hard time. The good thing is teamwork beats bullies anytime. The more people stand up against bullying, the lesser bullies there will be.
Keep that in mind.
