Everybody loves commercials. They have become the benchmarks for branding and creativity in the field of business and they are just so freaking’ funny and engaging. Taglines can be very interesting and have created various guessing game sessions all over the world. The most iconic ones never leave our minds, but pretending that temporary amnesia smacked you in the head, Friday has created this list of taglines that you are all definitely very familiar with.
Just Do It.
No one who is alive and mentally sound can possibly fail to recognize this tagline. Nike posters and billboards are all over the place and whether you are a sports buff or not, you know what Nike means when they say that. This can be effective as a subliminal message too, you know. “Should I buy those shoes?” Just do it!
But aside from convincing you to add another pair to your already mounting sneaker collection, the slogan is universal and somehow personal, which can make you feel that you have a supportive sis or bro urging you to do good, urging you to take risks or simply live life. Geez! Lots of interpretation of these three words.
I’m Lovin’ It.
Aside from the legendary logo, McDonald’s has given us a tagline that’s so simple and just so honest and true about how we feel towards their products. What’s not to love? Setting aside calorie count, McDo is such a treat. It’s a cheap thrill that most people do enjoy and love. In fact, showing your unyielding love of this food every day will give you the Supersize Me effect.
Because You’re Worth It.
Perhaps it is in the nature of women to take care of their loved ones first. A woman will cook for her family first before fixing herself up, prep the house for her partner before heading to the parlor, and yada yada yada. And since the female species tend to take care of other people first, L’Oreal’s tagline hits a nerve. Like a lightning bolt, it goes straight to the woman’s heart telling her, “You are beautiful. You are worth it!” Alright! Alright! I’ll stop being mellow dramatic. The tagline simply wants to tell every woman that she is worth it, and she deserves to be pampered and treated right. Next!
Melts in your mouth, not in your hands.
There is nothing more pleasurable than the assurance of being able to eat candy covered chocolate without it melting in your hands. M&Ms really nailed it with this guarantee that surely put a smile on everyone’s face. It subtly compares itself to other brands and now nothing even comes close to M&Ms. But seriously, of course the M&Ms won’t melt in your hand! These little colored candies can go directly into your waiting mouth!
As a brand, Apple is pure genius. For one thing, its tagline promotes innovation and thinking outside the box, which are always good. Also, it never fails to promote how different the Apple experience is from all the others!
And to think that this catch phrase has been around since the 1950’s! Well done, Sir Harland David Sanders! I, myself, am sometimes tempted to use my bare hands whilst eating the delicious KFC chicken with all its secret herbs and spices. Truly finger-lickin’.
The happiest place on Earth.
And when they say that, I truly believe it. Disneyland is indeed magical. It’s where the movies you grew up with come alive! What can be happier than that, right? Well, of course it’d be better if Disney cutie Zac Efron would join you as you go through hoops and loops at the rides but alas, a girl can dream.
Indeed, all the things these brands say stick to our minds like a One Direction LSS, and we just can’t deny how much we know these taglines. What other taglines do you know? Think about ‘em, ‘cause even if yes, they are marketing tools, they are also positive reinforcements. Just look at ‘em that way to cheer yourself up, won’t you? Goodie.
